Or in Roman Londidia...

Hello from Londidia (the name the Romans called it when they arrived in London tons and tons of years ago and made a bridge - or so we discovered yesterday).

Wow massive four days! We are chillaxing at the moment as we have just been told its a 2.50am pickup for the airport tomorrow, so while we aren't out experiencing amazing sites and generally doing cool shit, I'll take the time to let everyone know what has gone down in the last few days... short answer, A LOT!

Tuesday we conquered the tube all by ourselves and found our way to Oxford Circus/St holy shizza the best shopping Ive seen in a long time! We hit up many great stores, visited Soho, had NZ coffee at Flat White (after searching for about 2 hours) and basically just got our walk on. It was a beautiful day in London and we were in love (with the city not each other).

That night Tim and Kim took us to East London, the old haunting ground of Jack the Ripper, cool! We had dinner in an area called Brick Lane, famous for its Indian Restaurants and where they try and get you in by offering deals and free food/booze, similar to Lygon St in Melbs. Then we passed out - this is a general theme you will start to see repeated.

Wednesday we tried to get onto it early but with crap weather got seriously delayed, we somehow found ourselves at Waterloo station and with nowhere to be, we decided tea for two and English weirdo muffin breakfast was in order. After this we headed to Southbank looking for the Tait which we did eventually find, massive mission to visit just one floor but its all about the journey as Miley Cyrus said.

After this we boosted it to the Westend to score some tickets to Wicked, turns out its not at the Westend anymore so we tubed it up to Victoria and got some tickets to that nights show. On arriving at the Apollo later that night at the advice of our temp roommate's, we were dressed to the nines, only to get there and realise off Westend shows must be like going to the movies as we spotted many an Ugg Boot and a few valour trackies - oh dear god!

Now that wasn't the best bit, the show was all going well but it wasn't the same for Belz and I, about half way through the 1st Act we both fell asleep with our heads bobbing up and down all over the show we wouldn't have looked out of place at Boogie Wonderland with the sweet moves we pulled out but not quite right for a serious Tony award winning show. We got the jist of it in the second half where we managed to stay awake and both concluded it to be a very fine show indeed.

Thursday... whew getting tired typing now... probably should have split this up a bit eh? Anyway this was declared TOURIST DAY!! So we got our butts to Trafalgar Square and hopped on our open aired bus tour, good times! We learnt about heads on sticks at the bridge, the London fire, the Tower of London, and some other stuff. We got off at the Tower and spent a massive portion of our day there, highlight was Anne Boleyn's death at the very place we stood and the mystery of the two young Princes, ooooooh (we voted it was their Uncle that murdered them). After this we got back on our bus but were massively disappointed that instead of a live tour guide we got headphones, I was further put out when 3 separate sets of headphones gave me internal electric shocks down my ears (totally not pleasant I think I have a problem).

We then headed to Camden Markets for perusing and dinner and drinks with our lovely friends Tim and Kim.

Friday... today that is. Today we got onto it bright and early and started our day with a spiffing bike ride around West Hampstead, bad buzz being Belz couldn't put her feet on the ground and had to use low lying fences and the like to stop herself and rest. After this it was out to Nottinghill and Portobello road, we saw no Hugh Grant and no quaint bookshops, just lots and lots of antique stores and tacky stalls... suffice to say it was a bit of a let down and we are seriously thinking we weren't at the right end?

We then cruised over to Kensington Palace/Park and onto the Natural History Museum, I got it in my head there was a T-Rex there but the bastards lied to me.

Now we are biding our time until some amazing burger joint called GBKs fill our belly's then it is off to bed before the European leg of this adventure starts...
